Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been on this land for possibly 60 000. It is time they were recognised as the first people of this country.

I'm not sure - there needs to be no possibility of such actions of the intervention ever again.

If there is not enough support for a guarantee in the Constitution, what other things can we do to stop racial discrimination in national laws?
Make sure the racial discrimination act does not change - 18C is an essential part of this act.

There needs to be unity and support for this - I'm not sure who would represent over 250 Indigenous nations. Too much money has been frittered away by non-Indigenous people in the name of supporting Indigenous communities around Australia.

Indigenous lives in this country often carry the scars of inter-generational trauma. We said sorry in 2008 but the words seem to ring hollow given poor health, education and employment outcomes for many Indigenous people. It is 2017 - time to face up to
