The change should be inserted in the Constitution as a preamble which expresses recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia.
Should we have a statement that acknowledges the First Peoples of Australia?
Yes. This should be in the Constitution.

What should the statement say?
Recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as First Peoples of our country. Acknowlege continuing relaionship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders to the land and water, and also the need to secure the advancement of the First Peoples.
Do you have any other comments on a statement about the First Peoples of Australia?
This would lay the foundation for future treatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples their culture, language and heritage. It would legitimate the public celebration of the herit

It should also specify that any laws made for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should only be for their advancement and benefit. issues to make laws about - a treaty and an Indigenous voice in Parliament.

This benefits and guides all peoples of Australia - and provides a positive basis for the education of our children.

Should a new Indigenous group be set up under the Constitution to give advice and make sure Indigenous people have a voice in political decisions that affect them?

It should have sufficient members to adequately represent the First Peoples.

It would complete a 'clean' identity for Australia, complimenting the recognition of the First Peoples in the Constitution.
